As you are aware CUPE 1816, Representing the Employees of Pacific Blue Cross are currently LOCKED OUT by Pacific Blue Cross (PBC). Support for the workers on lockout can take many forms:

  • walk the picket line with fellow CUPE 1816 members at 4250 Canada Way. This picket line is 24 hours and picket signs can be picked up by contacting any CUPE 4627 Executive member.
  • submit your claims for extended health and dental via Canada Post. This may cause payment delays or could help end the lockout
  • write a letter to the PBC Board of Directors and advise them of the impact on you and your family of your medical claims being delayed or denied and not being able to communicate with any employee in regards to your benefits.

We have been in contact with the Employer in regards to our concerns regarding the PBC lockout and the impact on the membership as PBC shows no sign of wanting to return to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair deal with benefits all employers should be striving to provide to their employees.
