VCC Faculty Association - STRIKE VOTE INFORMATION.

The College and the VCC Faculty Association - (VCCFA) have been actively negotiating in the net zero climate as mandated by the government. The VCCFA are holding a strike vote on Feb 23-24, 2011. The CUPE 4627 Executive met with the co-chairs of the
VCCFA Bargaining Committee last night and we were promised that the communication would be forthcoming where possible. It is important that CUPE 4627 members keep up to date with information - via this website, twitter, or by contacting an executive member. If the VCCFA serves 72 hours strike notice CUPE 4627 will be calling an emergency special general meeting for members. Bargaining dates between the College and the VCCFA are planned for the 1st week of March.

CUPE Local 4627 Keeps its Official Layoff Notice Counter into '09

To keep members up to date on cuts and layoffs, CUPE Local 4627 continues to maintain its official Layoff Notice Counter into 2009. This counter is not intended
to downplay the stress and negative impact of the loss of a job - but it is meant to keep members informed and to pass along correct information as soon as possible. This counter tracks the number of layoff notices given to CUPE Local 4627 members - and may be the result of a bumping sequence. Please contact any of the Union Executives if you would like more info - or have any questions.
