On March 11, 2016, with another full day of bargaining scheduled for March 12th, VCC management abruptly canceled bargaining and relayed that they saw no reason to schedule further dates. This letter was sent to remind the VCC bargaining team of the collective bargaining process and obligations therein. Not meeting is not conducive to striking a deal. The narrative from the Employer will now be that the Union is being uncooperative with scheduling further bargaining dates and refusing to “move negotiations forward”. The Union is committed to reaching a successful conclusion to collective bargaining and we still await responses to available dates (including weekends) put forward to the VCC management.

UPDATE 4/4/16 11:34 am The Employer has applied to the Labour Board for mediation.
